TRDL 2012 Series, No. 40 - Agent Abigail Brand [Astonishing X-Men]
TRDL Redesign

Agent Brand was introduced in Whedon and Cassaday's Astonishing X-Men as a spacey Nick Fury type, with lots of bravado and urgency. Soon, she was dating Hank McCoy and appearing in other books, fighting alien threats with varying degrees of success. During the Skrull Invasion, her space station was destroyed and her component of the plotline for that mini-series event was pretty fun. Anyway, the main problem I have had with Brand is that the all green leathers/armor and green hair and lipstick read too much like Viper from Hydra, and the spacey goggles she frequently wears feel too 80s to my eye. So in this TRDL Redesign, I kept the green hair but chopped it short, ditched the goggles, and gave her a different suit design. I'm still playing with greens though pushed dark and desaturated. The sockets everywhere allude to this being a pressurizable suit suitable for vacuum, since she ends up exposed in space too often as it is. Helmet required!
