TRDL 2012 Series, No. 51 – Iron Man Avengers Film Version [TRDL Redesign]
This was part of a team redesign I’ve been working on for the Marvel film version of the Avengers, where I’m doing a redesign of each costume (the rules being that they should be recognizable to the fanbase, not outright blank slate redesigns) set in the Marvel film universe. What that means is that my redesigns are as if I were asked to do concept art at the onset of the Avengers film production, based on the existing movie canon at that point. Iron Man was the design where I deviated the most from the previous film costumes. I like the Adi Granov derived IM suits in the IM series, but I thought the Avengers film was a chance to offer a more streamlined, less complicated design. As a result, this armor does not have the skull-type helmet and detailed faceted components that we’ve seen and loved on screen. The project overall has been fun, because I sketched the group shot all at once and have been fleshing the characters out individually ever since.

Looks like a more organic armor, I like the fingers in two colors and the style in the midriff!

Neat, I like the rounder design to the armor. The little bolts or rivets or whatever details are perfect.
