TRDL 2012 Series, No. 06 – Spazierend Panzers [TRDL Commission]

Part 4 of 4

This was one of three mecha designs developed for one of my long-term clients for his original supers gaming universe. Think WWII-era mecha. We put a lot into debating how to give modern mecha design an old-timey feel appropriate for the 40s based largely on German artillery, tank and other equipment designs. It was a fun project, and I actually went to the library for the first time since college (14 years or so!) though ultimately most of my refs came from the supernet after all.
This is a group shot of all three mecha classes to show scale.

Cool! They remind me a bit of mecha in the miniature wargame Dust (which has some cool mini's but is not the best playable game ever concieved, or so I've been told). Why is is that the bad guys allways have the best looking tech?

I allways thought the pods sort of sucked, but the command vehicles and cruisers were awesome! Still nothing wrong with a veritech fighter.
Off course I knew it as Robotech. I especially liked the bikes from the 3rd series of that (Invid invasion) no idea what the Japanese title for the series was.
